About Us

Emily Ullo Steigler is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and entrepreneur whose creative journey bridges scientific precision and expressive fashion. With a master's degree in medical illustration from Augusta University, she spent nearly a decade illustrating complex medical and surgical concepts for institutions like the Quality Medical Publishing and Seif & Associates.

In 2014, inspired by the birth of her identical twin daughters—Scout and Indiana—Emily founded her namesake brand, Scout & Indiana. What began as a line of witty onesies and tees has evolved into a collection of handcrafted apparel and accessories for kids and adults, known for their bold, urban-inspired aesthetic. Each piece, from embroidered denim jackets to custom dresses, is designed and produced in-house, reflecting Emily’s commitment to quality and individuality.

As a military spouse, Emily has navigated relocations across the U.S. and, most recently, to Stuttgart, Germany. These transitions have enriched her creative perspective and connected her with diverse maker communities . Her work has garnered recognition, including being named one of “30 D.C. Women Changing the Game” by District Fray Magazine.

Emily's philosophy centers on embracing creativity without fear, continuously learning, and finding inspiration in everyday life—especially through the eyes of her children. Through Scout & Indiana, she crafts standout styles that celebrate the humor and uniqueness of family life.
